It was a cold start for the day and temps never really got past 40 F I think. Yes. That says 23 F. Hot like a polar bear’s toenail
Yep. Cold enough that we had to figure out how to stay hyrdated. Frozen water and all. At least it was 0 calories.
But it’s cool. The scenery more than makes up for it. This kind of riding warms the soul.
Gooseberry Mesa was just like any other trail. It had its ups.
It had its downs.
It was flat here and there.
There was even a small stream.
But it was good times all around.
Even first time riders did okay. First time as in doesn’t even know how to use gears. Notice the only one smiling here.
But he said he had a good time and that he didn’t hate me and Ed.
Definitely worth a trip again. In warmer weather. Anyone?

- crash : Yea, just change the boot out. Don't buy aftermarket half shafts for the audi, tolerances are too tight. To replace outer boot, you'll have to disassemble inner CVjoint as well. Might as well replace both boots.
- Manster : Audi, drive side outer.
- crash : Quick boot is a fail. Best to do it the old fashioned way. Is this for the audi or the CRV?
- manster. : crash, my cv boot gave up. Thoughts on the Quick Boot? Otherwise, I'll do it with a std boot kit.
- crash : I have to say that the Talus, even at 100mm, felt so plush. I'm super happy with my super ghetto tubless setup too. Didn't lose 1psi of air during the whole ride even though I ran it at 28psi.
- crash : Hahaha, Tymo didn't look too happy when he got back to the truck.
- Oz. : I think Tim will hate for the next 3 yrs for tricking him to ride Whore to Extra Credit with us. We miss you guys..sorta..sin ce it's been a while.

- crash : I was bummed that you and Higz couldn't make it. Was a great fast paced ride. Saw part of Big Laguna that I had never ridden before.
- Manster : I went through magazine after magazine of .45 ammo last week and now my right wrist is fucked. All the meat in between the bones is bruised. Sorry guys, I had to back out of the ride yesterday because I can't grip the bars.

Extra credit can be done if needed but I'm 100% sure that by the time we get before Stairway, the heat would be unbearable.

- Guest_3813 : We are dropping off at Wooded Hills dirt lot. Jumping straight unto Los Gatos (or if consensus allows) climb up to the left from the lot into some singletrack then onto Los Gatos then BLT then to Noble proper.. but we'll skip the first big Noble climb. eff that.

- Manster : Ahhhh, that is a FUN, fast and tight little trail that goes down. The way back up is a good challenge. Shoot, if it's that close, I'm going to try and sneak a ride in.

- Manster : I used a Piranha front/rear and thought it was a great tire. Fast rolling and aggressive cornering bite. Especially on a tacky trail. Braking is.... ok... they just won't last long if you skid around. The solution is to not brake.
- Ade : i have the pythons on the trance and they're great for XC. low rolling resistance and still corners really well.
- Ade : piranhas have same tread pattern as cuddas. the main difference being the center knobs are a lot lower profile for lower rolling resistance. i use them in as a rear tire in combo with a cudda up front. i don't recommend using them as both front and rear because you throw braking out the window pretty much. and don't get them smaller than 2.3 because you crazy with the riding stylee

- Guest_4196 : Higz, Miramar rents out generators and portable propane heaters. My first 24hr race crew had a former marine who rented out some sick equipment from the base. I mean, fucking military standard issue shit. The heater kept half the block warm all night. Ask Heather.
